Caught By Cupid

It's the most popular day for guys to pop the question and it's just as popular to get married on or around Valentine's Day. Everyone is in the mood to celebrate and love and will be more than willing to celebrate while watching new love take flight. It's never tacky to get married around this holiday, it's romantic. What can be tacky is if your decor looks like it came from Hallmark.
Go easy on the hearts, use them for great photo ops to commemorate your day, but keep them to a minimum in your reception venue. Read your own vows off of heart shaped valentines for a sweet, unique and memorable twist. Heart shaped cakes belong in the 80's.
The more flowers, the better. Red roses are plentiful and gorgeous, even in a simple vase or bowl. Pinks are sweet and adds a whimsical feel to your day, while reds are romantic and passionate.
Red & White, Red, Pink & White, Pink & Red, Pink & White you can't go wrong with any combination and black, gold & silver for more depth and elegance.

Wedding Rings For Men

Ladies... You've got your ring and now it's time to get your man one! Choose one that compliments yours. If you have white gold get his to match. Yellow gold is fazing out and looks less brilliant next to your sparkling white gold. Or go for the newer trend of titanium or black. Just as your ring should compliment you, his ring should compliment him. You can go simple, one with a few details or one that will stand out. Possibilities are endless now and what girl doesn't mind shopping around!

Bling, Bling...Let's talk Rings

Every guy making the big purchase will hear about the 4 C's.
  • Cut
  • Color
  • Clarity
  • Carat Weight
The most important thing to remember when buying the ring your bride will be wearing the rest of her life, is not price or any of the 4 C's. It's whether or not the ring suits her. A simple, inexpensive ring can be just as beautiful as an elaborate ring if the girl who's going to wear it is simple herself. The ring should reflect her personality, style and ultimately is a symbol of your love and commitment, not the price tag.
Antique styles are coming back! Family heirlooms are the way to go and keep family memories alive. I personally love anything with filigree (intricate designs on the ring). A little or a lot! It adds unique detail and often more sparkle. Of course any girl would love any ring with the name Tiffany & Co. on it, but don't feel obligated guys.

Bad Dresses

Yes, there is such a thing as a bad wedding dress. Here are some guidelines to follow.
  • Find a dress for your shape
  • Less is not always more, especially when it comes to your clothes.
  • If you're pregnant, flowing, covering gowns are best
  • Cleavage should be tasteful not plentiful
Take a look at some of the worst wedding dresses ever!

Impress with the Dress

It's seems like such a cliche thing to say, but every bride wants her dress to be spectacular. So do you go glam and pay out big time for the "dream dress" or do you find something at a better price range. I'm sure there's plenty of people who sit in both camps. You;ll hear statements like, "It's the biggest day of your life, your dress should reflect it." or "You'll only wear it once, you can't justify paying that." Here's the best piece of advice you're going to hear regarding your dress...Follow your heart. If you are going to feel guilty for paying a high price don't even go there. Look at dresses only in your price range. But if you want that dream dress and are willing to pay for it, go for it. Keep in mind that your dress should reflect the overall style of your day. Go to the salon with one goal in mind, that no matter what you try on, you will marry the man of your dreams in something beautiful for you.

Winter Wonderland

It's such a popular theme from December to February, but there's a good reason why. It's the perfect excuse to go completely nuts with the glitter and sparkle. Blues, whites and silvers reign supreme. This is the one time to wear the "fur" coat. Stores are full of decorations and many can be put to great use for your big day. With a Winter Wonderland theme, there's no such thing as too much!

Holiday Threads

I love that the Holidays bring people together. I particularly love getting dressed up in my holiday finest and going to spend time with those you love. If you're getting married near the Holidays, don't be afraid to use the traditional reds & greens in your bridal party's attire. Stunning red and supple green bring warmth and beauty to a cold winter's day. Choose long, formal dresses for your girls and add color to the guys with vests and ties in great holiday hues.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Get Married at Christmas time! It's one of the best kept secrets when it comes to weddings. Everyone decorates for Christmas, which mean you can spend less and have a fabulous wedding. Lights are plentiful and every venue possible will have numerous Christmas lights giving your night the perfect glow. If you're not up for the traditional reds & greens that comes with the holiday season, opt for a more glamorous look with whites, creams, silvers & golds, the perfect color combo to make your day opulent.

Candy Bar

The sweetest thing to make a wave in favor trends in a while. What a great way to send guests off
with something that won't get tossed in the trash after a week. Dinner is over, cake is cut and your
guests have been dancing away, they may be starting to get a little peckish after all of those
awesome dance moves, and a sweet treat is the perfect solution. Your guests will have so much
fun picking their candies and filling decorative bags or boxes.
You can find candy to fit any color scheme, variations of the same color or multiple colors
together all look great in glass jars. You can even add flair to your jars with ribbons, glitter
and custom monogram stickers.

A New Kind Of Sole

Wedding shoes don't just have to be white anymore. They can be whatever you choose. And any color looks great with a white dress. This is such a fun way to bring your color scheme into your own attire. Bridesmaids are also joining in the fun and wearing neutral dresses and brightly hued footwear. This is one trend that I absolutely love!!
